Abaco Thoroughbred Aftercare was founded on decades of hands-on experience with Thoroughbreds off the track. For more than 20 years, we have provided training and boarding services in the area, developing a deep understanding of the care, patience, and expertise these horses require to thrive.

Throughout the years, we have successfully sold and placed approximately 100 off-track Thoroughbreds into sport horse careers, helping them transition into disciplines such as hunters, jumpers, eventing, and pleasure riding. These experiences reinforced our belief that with proper retraining and thoughtful placement, retired racehorses can excel in their second careers.

In late 2025, we formally established Abaco Thoroughbred Aftercare to focus exclusively on the retraining and rehoming of retired racehorses. Our mission is to provide each horse with individualized care, professional training, and a clear path to a safe, suitable, and permanent home.

By combining years of proven experience with a dedicated aftercare mission, Abaco Thoroughbred Aftercare is committed to ensuring every horse in our program has the opportunity for a successful future beyond the track.
